A Sketch a Day

A dear friend of mine challenged me to draw each day, developing techniques and workmanship for creating art.  His blog is nihil sine linea, and I have always enjoyed watching him create and produce fine art.  I've always envied those men and women, the artists that could create fantastic scenes of life or imagination to share with the world.  My favorite artists have been those who create unique pictures, framed in new ways.  Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, DaVinci, Raphael, Michelangelo and many others convey without words the beauty and majesty of the world that surrounds us and the life therein.  So I will post the foray into the art world here and see what comes of it.  If you wish - please comment.  I enjoy feedback.
Until the next time...

Of My Own Initiative

I selected a phrase that emphasized that I do this and all things out of my own Initiative.  Often times, it seems as though we forget that when we act, we are responsible for our actions and their consequences.  I look around and see so many blaming their problems or lack of success on others.  All to often, it leads to worse problems and more troubles for that individual.  I am as guilty of this as anyone.

But that doesn't excuse it.  For us to push forward, to seek out those new frontiers, we must first look at ourselves and own what we are, what we have made of ourselves.  From this, I establish this blog, a chronicle of actions and ideas that I create, elaborate, and celebrate.  Discussions on things I do, things I observe, and on people I care for will also feature heavily.

So, onto the writing, from my own hand...
